Private Customers are Welcome !

 

May I as a private person order a medical transport?  Yes, you may request a transport directly from AMS. We give an offer free of costs. Before starting a transport requested by a private customer, payment of total transport cost must be transferred to AMS.

 

Remark: If you are covered by a travel insurance or similar, you should preferably contact their alarm centre and let them arrange the transport and cover the costs.  

 

 

 

What is Appropriate Timing for Transporting a Patient?

 

As general rule patients should be stabilized from acute injury or illness, E.G;  Surgery and primary treatment should be performed before transport. In some cases an emergency evacuation is needed due to insufficient medical capabilities (equipment, competences etc) on the location.

 

Patients obtaining Intensive Care Treatment may be transported when the condition is  “fairly stable”. AMS medical transport planning team will assess patient’s condition and find most suitable time for patient transfer.

 

 

How Does it Work?

 

·         AMS will need to retrieve medical report and up-to-date information from treating doctor. Normally we will do           “doctor-to-doctor” conversation before initiating a transport.

 

·         After retrieving all information we provide you with an offer with:

 

o   Detailed medical information and risk assessment,

 

o   flight schedule and

 

o   pricing for the transport.                            

 

Obtaining an offer is  free of charges!

 

·         Before initiating a transport  we need:

 

o   Guarantee of Payment for total cost of the transport.

 

o   Departing hospital must release the patient, and claims for hospital costs must be covered.

 

o   Acceptance for receiving hospital (destination). We will provide this approval and inform receiving doctors.

 

o   Written consent form for transport from patient or relatives.

 

o   In scheduled airline transports we will need a medical approval from the airline’s medical department.
